The ‘Dwarf’ cultivar is often labelled only with the species, but is distinguished from the wild type by its much smaller size. Tradescantia spathacea is commonly called boat lily, moses-in-a-cradle, or oster plant. It is also sometimes labelled with its outdated synonym, Rhoeo spathacea.
