Information I process

When you use the website

If you visit the login page, the website will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

To create an account, you need to give your email address and login information. The website will store this information indefinitely to allow you to log in.

When you log in, several cookies are used to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

To sign up for the mailing list, you need to give your email address. This is stored indefinitely to send you the mailing list emails.

To sign up for a stock alert, you also need to give your email address. This is stored until the listing is back in stock, and then deleted after you have been sent the alert.

Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for processing this information is your consent. You can remove your consent at any time by contacting me, deleting your account, or unsubscribing, and I will then delete all the personal data associated with your account or subscription.

If you place an order

To place an order, you need to give your name and address. I use this information to fulfil your order. I am also required to store this information for three years as part of the UK plant passporting regulations. After three years, the information is permanently deleted.

Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for processing this information is legal obligation.

Payment processing

To place an order, you need to give your payment information to PayPal. I never have access to your financial details. You can find out about how PayPal uses your information in their privacy statement.

Your data protection rights

For all the personal information I hold, data protection law gives you the rights to:

  • Access the information.
  • Correct the information.

For personal information I hold by your consent (your online account information), you also have the rights to:

  • Have me erase the information.
  • Restrict my use the information.
  • Object to my use of the information.
  • Transfer the information to another organisation.
