Tradescantia cerinthoides is a large sprawling plant with succulent stems and leaves. The ‘Limelight’ cultivar has smooth leaves with golden variegation, which is brightest on new growth and fades in lower light conditions. It occasionally forms small pink-and-white flowers.

The ‘Limelight’ cultivar is sometimes called by the invalid names ‘Variegata’ or ‘Aureovariegata’. Tradescantia cerinthoides is commonly know as flowering inchplant.
