Tradescantia (Continental Group) ‘TPIWH01-0’

£5.00

The Tradescantia Continental Group are a range of white-flowered hybrids of unknown origin. ‘TPIWH01-0’, better known by its trade name “Pistachio White” is a cultivar with long trailing stems and bold white variegation. Similar to ‘Albovittata’ but with generally larger leaves and brighter variegation, this cultivar was recently introduced in the US and is now available for the very first time in the UK and Europe.

Description

Check out this page for more information about ordering cuttings.

‘TPIWH01-0’ is often mistaken for ‘Albovittata’, because they are extremely similar. This cultivar was described as a sport from ‘Albovittata’, with larger leaves and brighter variegation. Cultivars in the Continental Group are often incorrectly labelled as the species T. fluminensis, or its outdated synonym T. albiflora. This group are most likely hybrids with ancestry from multiple species of the Austrotradescantia subgenus. Tradescantias are commonly known as inchplants, spiderworts, wandering dudes, and dayflowers. For more information about plant naming and identification, take a look at the main Tradescantia Hub website.
